Joint Pain

Joint pain is a symptom which can be linked to many different conditions related to the foot and ankle. Pain in a joint is usually caused by destruction of the cartilage surface. When a joint is painful the condition is typically associated with arthritis. Osteoarthritis is also termed degenerative joint disease (DJD) and is the most common types of arthritis. Joint pain can also be produced by any type of trauma to the foot and ankle. All joint pain symptoms should be evaluated by a podiatrist or other healthcare practitioner.
