Delayed Union

A fracture or osteotomy that does not heal in a suitable time frame is termed a delayed union. In general, a fracture that hasn’t healed in 3-6 months is considered a delayed union. The time frame may differ between expert opinions. A fracture which is longer than this time may be considered a non-union.
